‘Tis the Season for Kitchens and Bathrooms
Need to (finally) remodel your Tahoe kitchen or bathroom? South Shore Custom Builders delivers beautiful work, every time.
Most outdoor work is on hold for Winter so if you have an indoor project, contact us today for a bid and let’s get started! Kitchens and bathrooms are the most utilized rooms in a house. A remodel will not only improve your every-day, it’ll add long-term tangible value to your house.
Now Booking for the 2025 Building Season
Outdoor building opportunities in Tahoe are limited over Winter but depending on your projects, progress can still be made. Feel free to get in touch with questions about Winter restrictions. If you’re looking ahead for a 2025 build, now is the perfect time to be interviewing builders.
Within the basin, earthwork is now limited but we can still get certain projects underway. Progress over Winter is completely possible but it’s dependent on weather and the stage of the project. If you’re looking to remodel with very limited earthwork required, let’s talk!
Looking ahead to 2025? You’re in a great position to get plans and permits ready to break ground in the Spring.
Efficient Project Management Sets Us Apart
Building in California involves expert craftsmanship, precision timing and a whole lot of paperwork.
At South Shore Custom Builders, we make it a priority to be ahead in every stage of the building process. We’ve been through enough builds to know exactly how to time each phase so that work continues, inspections are passed and progress is predictable. California is adding new building codes all the time. In addition to superior carpentry and project management, our team stays ahead of the latest requirements for building, environmental regulation and fire safety to ensure your home will be finished as efficiently as possible.
We Specialize in New Construction
Whether you’ve invested in land or a tear-down, we can assist you in the entire building process.
Because of the steep terrain, weather conditions and environmental regulation, Tahoe, and nearby foothills have some of the strictest and most extensive building requirements in the nation. We have been through the process many times and we know the ropes when it comes to permits, variances, coverage, excavation, retaining walls, down-sloping and up-sloping lots, custom framing, cut-and-stack roofs and a variety of high-end finishes. We’ll make sure everything is done right the first time.
Already have plans? Contact us for a bid and let’s get started!

Recent New Construction
1906 Apalachee Drive
Nearing completion in December 2024, this 2,850 square foot contemporary home replaces a 1970 tear-down. From demolition to finish, we’re proud to showcase Peter’s latest accomplishment.
2054 14th Ave
In 2018 Peter heard Hawai’i calling. He traded the mountains for the jungle and built a 3/2 on an acre of lava that would take advantage of the open country and the trade winds.
2346 Wagon Train Trail
In 2014 the team embarked on a 3,300 square foot home set on an up-sloping lot in Montgomery Estates. The result was an impressive residence that sold before it was even finished.
